The Gift of Life Foundation held its 2nd Annual Maternal/Child Health Mini-Conference on Friday, April 27,2018 from 7:30 a.m.- Noon at the AUM School of Nursing. The mini-conference provided education to more than 100 area maternal child health and social work professionals on issues grappling the state ranging from the rising rate of sexually transmitted infections in Alabama, prenatal stress and its impact on a mother and child’s development, to neonatal abstinence syndrome -- what happens when a baby is exposed to drugs in the womb.
