Gift of Life Foundation is inviting area health and social service providers, early learning professionals, breastfeeding mothers, WIC counselors, nutritionists and breastfeeding advocates to attend the free workshop, "Boosting Breastfeeding Support: Community Strategies to Support Breastfeeding" on Friday, March 8, 2019, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the new auditorium on the campus of Trenholm State Community College- Patterson Campus. Presented by nationally recognized breastfeeding expert Cathy Carothers, BLA, IBCLC, co-director of Every Mother, Inc., the event will cover several topics including "Addressing Common Barriers to Breastfeeding", "Supporting Employed Breastfeeding Moms", "Working with Health Care Providers to Build Networks of Support", "Enhancing Workplace Support for Breastfeeding Moms" and "Increasing Public Visibility of Breastfeeding." The workshop and CEUs are free, but YOU MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND BY MARCH 1, 2019. Professional learning certificates will be provided for those who do not require CEUs but would like to document completing the workshop. Lunch will not be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch or purchase lunch from nearby restaurants.
