Maternal Health Month

Maternal Mental Health Month is recognized every May, with events and campaigns focused on raising awareness and providing support for mothers' mental health. Perinatal depression, including postpartum depression, occurs more often than most people realize. Studies show that 1 in 5 women and 1 in 10 men may experience depression and anxiety during the perinatal period, according to Postpartum Support International. However, the numbers are likely higher and increase for high-stress parenting groups.
